What is involved in Meditation for our children?
Silencing the mind
Silence allows you to watch your mind and become aware of the thoughts that you may be acting on unconsciously. When you see the thoughts, you can make a conscious choice to act on the thought or change your mind, instead of going along with the noise.
Mindful Breathing
The most basic way to do mindful breathing is simply to focus your attention on your breath, the inhale and exhale. Experts believe a regular practice of mindful breathing can make it easier to do it in difficult situations.
Visualization
While you are meditating your body is in a relaxed state and your mind is active, this is the time to enhance your imagination .Meditation and visualization have the power to teach and heal. Visualization is one method of using the mind to influence the body.
Chants
Chanting sounds and rhythm channels the flow of energy through the mind-body. It balances our moods and overall sense of well-being. Sanskrit word for chants is Mantra, where "Man", meaning mind, and, tra, meaning deliverance, or, projection.
Mandalas
The word mandala, in Sanskrit means the circle or a center. Mandalas are used in meditation as focal points.
The mandala symbolizes
harmony, unity, wholeness, and healing.
Kids Programme
Kids meditation classes comprises simple breathing techniques along with guided meditations and emphasis is given to developing and enhancing positive attitude such as inner calm, empathy and loving kindness.
